Where to stay

Turks and Caicos caters mainly to the upper end of the tourism market. Many travellers choose to stay in private villas but there are also numerous resorts on Provo, ranging from über luxurious to fairly affordable. While our world famous Grace Bay Beach has the highest concentration of hotels, Long Bay is our favourite area of the island, and home to the best kiteboarding spot in the country.

Here are some places to stay we recommend. For more options, or if we can help book, then please feel free to contact us.

Wind in TCI
forecast and current conditions

We are pretty blessed here in Turks & Caicos when it comes to the wind and weather. It truly is a kiter's paradise!

We have good consistent patterns and cycles that play out through the year giving us a beautiful trade wind from the east.

We expect to have wind from around Thanksgiving all the way through to mid September. The winter months (Nov-March) bring stronger wind ranging between 15-25 knts, created mostly by storms and cycles off the coast. It will also lean toward coming from the North during this time meaning that we get to enjoy the North shore reef and the swell that often comes with that strong wind.  Amazing downwinders and sessions can be had out there..!

As we move through the year (April-Sept), and air and water temps start to rise, we get a slightly lighter but steadier wind, and some days with a touch more Southerly.

Some of the best months are June, July, and August.

From mid September to Thanksgiving winds are unpredictable and we can occasionally get brushed by tropical storms or hurricanes.

Annual average air temperature range of 75° F to 95° (24° C to 35° C), and an ocean water temperature range of 79° F to 85° (26° C to 29° C)

Most of the lessons take place on long bay beach, on the south of the island, where we get a perfect cross on breeze.

Water temps are pretty enjoyable year round, although a light  neoprene top or shorty helps during the winter months and for the long sessions.
